A beautiful Saturday afternoon in late May, and the sun was shining down on Larmer Tree for Hannah and Sheridan’s wedding. It was a pleasure to play on the beautiful Singing Theatre stage and it was the perfect backdrop for time on the lawn during the drinks reception. The stage (built in 1855) features a hand painted fresco scene and has incredible acoustics, allowing the music to resonate beautifully within the space. Plus, it had one perk: no peacocks crashing the performance!
This was a particularly meaningful performance for me, as Hannah and I go way back to our secondary school days. Knowing them both personally made it an honour to be part of such an important celebration. Sheridan, being a dedicated Newcastle United fan, had one special request: ‘Local Hero,’ an iconic anthem of the club. It was a moment that brought a personal and unforgettable touch to the day.
The drinks reception also included some other music including some ABBA ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ and Taylor Swift classics like ‘Lover’ and ‘Love Story’. To end the drinks reception we had some upbeat classics before the group photo like ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’ and ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’.
The drinks reception was truly a joyful part of the day. The stunning gardens of Larmer Tree offered the perfect backdrop, with the warm sunshine adding to the perfect day. It was also lovely to catch up with Louisa Jane Photography after a few years and to see her working her magic behind the camera, capturing some beautiful moments of the day.
Hannah and Sheridan, thank you for letting me play a part in your amazing day. It was an absolute honour to bring a personal touch to your celebration and seeing you both surrounded by so much joy and love made it truly unforgettable. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness.
